Always trim the wick and check for debris.
Before lighting the candle, always trim the wick to ¼ inch and remove any debris remaining in the wax bath, such as wick trims or matches. Any debris will add more fuel to the candle than it is designed to handle. Excessive fuel can cause the flame to burn accidentally, or even catch fire near the candlelight. A wick that is placed or bent for a long time will cause uneven burning, dripping, opening and dust accumulation. Trimming the wick will help extend the life of the candle. If the wick is trimmed every few hours, the burning time of the candle will be extended by 25%.
Get it right the time.
Just as the cut is the deepest, the burn is the important. The diameter of the actual candle diameter increases by 1 inch, the candle should burn for 1 hour. For example, a candle with a diameter of 2 inches should burn for 2 hours. If the burning time of the candle is not long enough for the wax to liquefy or melt from the other end of the container, a "memory ring" will be formed. After the candle has a "memory ring", it will continue to tunnel throughout the life of the candle.
Do not burn the candle for longer than the manufacturer's instructions.
Burning the candle for too long will cause carbon to accumulate on the wick, causing it to enter a "mushroom" shape. Then, the wick will become unstable and produce a dangerous large flame. In addition, your candle will start to smoke and release soot. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions to avoid this. Generally, it is recommended that the candle should not be burned for more than four hours before being reignited, and should be cooled for at least two hours.
Keep flames away from flowing air.
When burning candles, please avoid close to fans, air conditioners, open windows or crowded places with people coming and going. Flowing air can interfere with the flame, causing annoying black marks on the glass.
Store the candles properly.
Store the candle in a cool, dry place with a lid to keep the candle free of dust and debris and help protect the wax and aroma. Highly scented candles have a service life of 6 to 12 months, depending on the smell.
